What to bring

We’ve carefully crafted this list to help you prepare for your stay at Aspen Grove Behavioral Hospital. Here you’ll find suggested comfort essentials that can make your stay more familiar and soothing, alongside a list of items best left at home. Our goal is to ensure the safety, comfort and well-being of all our patients, so we kindly ask that you review and adhere to these recommendations.

Clothing Items: (No belts, hoods, hats or strings/shoelaces/drawings)

  • Five pairs of socks
  • Five pairs of pants
  • Five tops
  • Three Bras – no underwire
  • Tank tops –no spaghetti straps
  • One coat, jacket or sweatshirt – no hoods
  • Two pairs of shoes – no shoelaces or flip flops
  • Five changes of underwear
  • Five tops, Five bottom items of clothing
  • Hygiene Items: must fit in 5 x 7 toiletry box – no glass, no mirrors, no aerosols/sprays, mouthwash, floss or pumps
  • Toothbrush/toothpaste
  • One ChapStick
  • Deodorant
  • Shampoo/conditioner
  • Lotion
  • Brush/comb
  • Two hair ties

Other:

  • Two books (no hardbound or staples) – Students may bring their textbooks
  • Optional – up to three unopened packs of cigarettes or tobacco products (adults 21 years old and older only)

Medical Equipment:

  • Glasses
  • CPAP
  • Dentures and supplies
  • Hearing aids

For your safety, we kindly request that you label all personal belongings with the patient’s first name and last initial to ensure their proper identification and care. Our dedicated staff will be happy to assist you in accepting belongings until the front desk closes the next day. Please note that if the patient has already reached the maximum allowable number of items, we may be unable to accept any additional belongings at that time.

To maintain a safe and supportive environment, we kindly ask that you refrain from bringing the following items into the hospital:

  • Weapons or any sharp objects that may pose a safety risk.
  • Illegal substances or items that violate our policies and regulations.
  • Alcohol or any intoxicating substances.
  • Glass containers or any other potentially breakable items.
  • Valuables or excessive amounts of cash. We recommend keeping such items secure at home.
